She survives assassination attempts and saves Lionel from poisoning. Nightdew purchases implicate Chancellor Oswald, Edmund’s elder half-brother, in Queen Ilsa’s death. Elvira’s mother died in prison, falsely blamed for it. At the Founding Day feast, Edmund is poisoned, Elvira framed, and Oswald seizes power with Black Boar mercenaries. Oswald falls to his death; the royal in-laws face justice. Lionel renounces his succession rights and seeks atonement at the northern wall.
